All passengers who “no show” a trip will be automatically cancelled for all other scheduled trips for the day. It is the responsibility of the passenger to call at least one (1) hour in advance of the scheduled return trip (or subsequent trip) if the passenger still needs a ride. If the passenger contacts rabbittransit less than one hour before the scheduled return trip (or subsequent trip), the passenger will be required to pay full fare as the cost will not be covered by MATP or another funding source.
With the recent transition of Cumberland County Transportation into the rabbittransit York Adams Transportation Authority, some small changes have been made in our daily operation, including the decrease in the use of “Will Calls.” This change has been decided for several reasons. It allows us to better plan the routing of the trips in order to achieve greater productivity and use of taxpayer dollars. Inherently, increased productivity and decreased cost in terms of staff time and other resources can be attained by requesting customers to provide their return time at the initial time of trip booking. We also see decreased call volume occur as a result of a second call not needing to be made to request the return ride. We recognize that change in any form can be difficult. When dealing with individuals who rely on public transportation for their basic needs, we recognize that passenger fears come into play. Please note that we will never leave a passenger stranded at a doctor office. As we move forward, our greatest goal is to create a sustainable model of shared ride transportation that will support a sustainable model that is governed by our values of safety, service, and stewardship.
If you are at a medical provider and your appointment time is being delayed, please call us or have a representative from the doctor’s office call the rabbittransit Call Center immediately. It is good practice upon arriving at your medical appointment to check in with staff to alert them that you are riding rabbittransit and inquire if the doctor you are planning to see is currently running on schedule. We want to avoid having the vehicle arrive for your return trip before you are seen by the medical provider.
